Hello, I’m Natasha! It’s very nice to meet you.
I’m an artist that specializes in traditional analogue illustration, painting, and portraiture. I recently graduated from OCAD University, and I’m very passionate about: health, the mind, and using art as therapy.
My more illustrative work is heavily character-based, and focuses on a lot of dark humour, and emotion. I work mainly in: pen, ink, watercolour, and acrylic. My style is often described as being reminiscent of Tim Burton or Edward Gorey.
If you’d like to know a little more about me, then you came to the right place! I’ll start by saying that art has always been my passion. It has been my form of self-expression and therapy throughout my entire life. Growing up, all I ever did was draw – I could never get enough of it.
As a young child, I was very much influenced and inspired by both Tim burton, and Studio Ghibli movies. Much of my more illustrative work has aspects of both hidden within it. I also always loved drawing people – specifically portraiture. I started practicing drawing faces regularly. From young I always knew that I wanted to master portraiture (still in the process). I always found that the face said so much about the person. It carried so much emotion and to this day, I still find creating portraits to be extremely intimate and fascinating – and that is why it’s such a vital piece in my work.
